The Government of Sri Lanka has enacted and gazetted the Right to Information Act, No. 12 of 2016, which provides for the right of access to information, specifies the grounds on which such access may be denied, establishes the Right to Information Commission, provides for the appointment of Information Officers, and sets out the procedures and matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
